Ethereum 2.0 Development Roadmap
Phase 0: Beacon Chain
The Beacon Chain is the first phase of Ethereum 2.0, a decentralized, parallel chain that enables the transition from a proof-of-work (PoW) to a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm. The Beacon Chain will serve as a hub for the Ethereum 2.0 network, allowing for the deployment of the Beacon Chain’s mainnet and the transition of the Ethereum 2.0 network.
Beacon Chain Architecture
The Beacon Chain will consist of the following components:
- Staking: The Beacon Chain will use a staking system, where validators are incentivized to participate in the network by staking their Ethereum 2.0 Ether (ETH) to validate transactions and secure the network.
- Beacon Chain Node: The Beacon Chain node will be responsible for managing the Beacon Chain’s state and ensuring the integrity of the network.
- Beacon Chain Relay Chain: The Beacon Chain Relay Chain will act as a relay chain, forwarding transactions from the Ethereum 2.0 mainnet to the Beacon Chain.
