Russian Crypto Exchanges Face Closure Amidst Court Ruling
A court in Russia has blocked several online crypto exchanges, including exchange, cash out, and transfer cryptocurrency using various payment methods, due to a decision recognizing their content as illegal.
Roskomnadzor May Shut Down Blacklisted Crypto Exchanges
The decision, made by the Kushnarenkovsky District Court in Bashkortostan, a republic of the Russian Federation, has led to the shutdown of websites providing options to exchange, cash out, and transfer cryptocurrency using various payment methods. The threat for the online crypto platforms stems from the court ruling that the information disseminated by the websites is banned under current law.
Roskomnadzor’s Ban List
The court has listed 17 websites affected by the decision, maintained by the non-government organization Roskomsvoboda, on its website. The list includes register of banned Russian websites, which lists 17 sites.
