Another factor contributing to the increase in block size is the anticipated launch of DApps on the blockchain. With the ability to deploy smart contracts, developers are expected to create a wide range of applications, including decentralized finance (DeFi) and gaming platforms.
Plutus Script Memory Gets A Boost
Cardano also increased Plutus script memory units by 12.5% to 11.25 million. This expansion will enable developers to create more complex and efficient Plutus scripts, allowing them to process more data items, increase concurrency, and expand their capabilities.
John Woods, Director of Cardano Architecture, explains the change
Woods notes that the increase in Plutus memory units is a first in a series of changes to expand the real-world capabilities of Plutus
