TikTok Shop Sees $64 Billion in Sales

TikTok Shop, the ecommerce platform, moved $64.3 billion in merchandise in 2025, nearly doubling from the year before. The US alone accounted for $15.1 billion of that, driven by short, cheap product ads. These ads can now be made with three AI tools, most of which are available for free. To start, choose a product to sell, either something you’re passionate about or a popular item on TikTok Shop. Download a photo of the product, crop it to remove the background and any watermarks, and upload it to ChatGPT. Use GPT Image 2 to generate a photo of a model with the product, and then create a script for a 10-second video using ChatGPT’s marketing capabilities. The script should include a hook, mention the price, and close with a call to action.

AI Video Generation

Use Google Flow’s Gemini Omni model to generate a clip of up to 10 seconds with native audio. Upload the generated image and cropped product photo as references, and paste the JSON script into the prompt box. Omni requires a paid Google AI plan, but is available for free inside YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app for users 18 and older. Every Omni video carries Google’s invisible SynthID watermark, identifying it as AI-generated.

Cost and Availability

The cost of using Omni is roughly $0.10 per second of video, or about $1 per clip. Google AI plans start at $7.99 per month for 200 monthly credits. The AI-generated ads can be used on various platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, with personalized copy and calls to action.
