Ethereum's Hegotá update, scheduled for 2027, has 66 proposals on the table. However, only one feature, FOCIL, is currently programmed. FOCIL allows a committee of validators to publish lists of transactions that block builders must honor, preventing censorship. Other proposals include a native privacy stack and increased network capacity. The development team will now reduce the list of proposals to a realistic content.
Hegotá Update Details
FOCIL, or Fork Choice enforced Inclusion Lists, is the only feature currently programmed for Hegotá. The Meta EIP official list includes 66 proposals at different stages, from ideas to abandoned EIPs.
Future Developments
The development team will compare EIP-8141 to EIP-8130 on August 25, with a decision expected on August 27. Other proposals aim to increase network capacity, with discussions around ACDE #243 suggesting a potential trajectory towards 600 million gas.
