What is Quant (QNT)?

Quant (QNT) is a decentralized platform built to facilitate interoperability between disparate blockchain networks and enterprise systems. Founded in 2018 by Gilbert Verdian, the project aims to create an “internet of trust,” allowing secure communication and data exchange across public and private ledgers. The QNT token is an ERC-20 utility asset used to pay for platform services and annual enterprise licenses within the ecosystem.

How does it work?

Quant functions through its proprietary core operating system, Overledger. Unlike traditional platforms that rely solely on smart contracts, Overledger utilizes “treaty contracts.” These allow developers to create Multi-chain Applications (MApps) that operate across multiple blockchains simultaneously. By layering its architecture, the network reads and verifies transactions from various sources without requiring companies to overhaul their existing complex infrastructures.

What makes it unique?

Quant differentiates itself through its enterprise-first approach. Key features include:

  • Interoperability: Removes communication barriers between different blockchain networks.
  • MApps (Multi-chain Applications): Enables developers to build applications that are not bound to a single blockchain.
  • Sector-Specific Solutions: Tailored architecture specifically for high-security sectors like banking and healthcare.
  • Quant App Store: A marketplace for developers to distribute MApps, further accelerating ecosystem adoption.

Future outlook and context

Since its inception in 2018, Quant has positioned itself as a critical infrastructure layer for institutional adoption. By solving the “silo” problem in blockchain—where networks cannot easily interact—Quant aims to be the gateway for legacy enterprise software to integrate with modern distributed ledger technology. As global demand for multi-chain functionality grows, Quant’s focus on scalability and interoperability remains its primary value proposition for long-term integration into the global financial and technical landscape.
