Introduction to Gram
Gram (GRAM) is native cryptocurrency of The Open Network (TON), scalable blockchain developed by Telegram, later continued by open-source community.
How Gram Works
Gram uses proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, validators selected based on staked GRAM tokens. Validators process transactions, add to blockchain, ensure network security.
Unique Features of Gram
Gram uses multi-level sharding, splitting blockchain into smaller pieces (shards), achieving high throughput. GRAM employs Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus algorithm, making network robust against attacks.
Future Outlook and Launch Context
Gram was rebranded from Toncoin in 2026, blockchain remained TON. Originally developed by Nikolai and Pavel Durov, founders of Telegram Messenger, project began as internal project, later transferred to open-source community.
