What is Skale (SKL)?

SKALE (SKL) is a modular blockchain network designed to provide high-performance infrastructure for decentralized applications (dApps). Unlike monolithic blockchains, SKALE utilizes a multichain architecture, allowing developers to deploy independent, interconnected “SKALE Chains” that operate in parallel. This design eliminates network congestion and allows dApps to function with the speed and efficiency of traditional web applications.

SKALE leverages the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), ensuring full compatibility with the Ethereum ecosystem. Its architecture relies on:

  • Independent Chains: Developers customize SKALE Chains to meet specific application needs, such as high-frequency gaming or AI data processing.
  • Gas-Free Transactions: The protocol replaces end-user gas fees with a prearranged model where developers subsidize costs, removing barriers to entry for mainstream users.
  • Security: The network employs a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism where validators stake SKL tokens. To maintain security, validators are randomly assigned and rotated across different chains.

The primary innovation of SKALE is its focus on high-throughput, user-friendly dApp deployment. By decoupling applications from a single congested mainnet, developers gain dedicated throughput.
