SoftBank's latest 13F filing, submitted to the SEC on August 14, reveals that the Japanese conglomerate holds 86,956,522 shares of Intel worth roughly $12.14 billion. This position accounts for about 67% of SoftBank's entire $18 billion US equity portfolio. Notably, SoftBank didn't add a single share during the second quarter of 2026, with the position remaining unchanged from the March 31 reporting date.
Portfolio Breakdown
SoftBank's next-largest holdings are Symbotic, a warehouse automation company, at approximately $1.79 billion, and T-Mobile at $1.68 billion. Intel's stake is nearly seven times larger than SoftBank's next-biggest American stock position.
The Intel stake originated from a $2 billion strategic investment finalized during the third quarter of 2025, amidst Intel's complicated turnaround effort. With nearly 87 million shares, SoftBank is a significant presence on Intel's shareholder register, and any decision to trim the position could impact the stock. A 10% move in Intel would swing SoftBank's disclosed US equity value by roughly $1.2 billion.
