SK Hynix has reached a preliminary agreement to pay 60% of employee bonuses in company stock and 40% in cash, according to Reuters. The South Korean chipmaker’s plan requires approval from union members before taking effect.
Under the proposed arrangement, workers would receive shares worth 40% of their total bonus in 2027. The remaining 20% of stock-based compensation would be split between 2028 and 2029. Employees would face no restrictions on selling the shares they receive.
The cash portion, representing 40% of the profit-sharing bonus, would be distributed in 2027.
