Fireblocks has hired Elad Roisman, former SEC acting chair, as Chief Regulatory and Policy Officer and General Counsel, Regulatory. Roisman joins the digital asset infrastructure company's executive leadership team to focus on regulatory affairs and help shape products for emerging rules. He will engage with regulators, including the SEC, CFTC, banking regulators, and industry standard-setters.
Executive Moves
Roisman's appointment adds regulatory expertise to Fireblocks' strategy for banks, payment companies, asset managers, and other financial institutions using stablecoins, tokenised assets, and on-chain settlement. He previously served as an SEC commissioner and acting chairman, and worked at NYSE Euronext, in private legal practice, and as a partner at Cravath, advising financial institutions, fintech companies, and crypto businesses on digital asset regulation. Fireblocks' move follows a broader pattern across crypto and digital finance companies, where regulatory expertise has become essential for working with policymakers and clients as new rules take shape. Other companies, such as Circle, MoonPay, and Coinbase, have also hired former regulatory officials to lead their legal and policy efforts.
